at the cross

I bow down in reverence
I look up at the cross
Of perfect love a reference
When you died for all of us.

You endured the lashes
and all the scorn of men.
When you preached to the masses,
did you know they'd turn on you then.

Adorned with a crown of thorn,
blood dripping on the ground.
For this world, God was born
so that salvation can be found.

You hang there beaten and bleeding
my sins are nailing you to the cross.
With your final breath you're pleading
forgiveness for all of us.

I look up at the cross.
I thank you for what you've done.
when sin accompanied all of us.
God sent his one and only son.
